‘the best Philip Roth for the kids’
Roth was only 26 when Houghton Mifflin published his first novella, about a college graduate in Jewish working-class Newark who falls for a spoiled college student from Short Hills, New Jersey. Roth's first collection of fiction includes the titular novella, plus five short stories all set in the parts of New Jersey to which Roth would so often return. This is a scarce early reissue of 'Goodbye, Columbus' published in 1969 to commemorate the release of the film of the same name. We’ve got a few lovely Corgi paperbacks of this and other classics too if you want to sample some Roth before diving into a big hardback.

Highly recommend checking out Jason Diamonds' multiple articles on Philip Roth, in particular his piece in GQ on the damning state of mens reading habits and why the boys should pick up some Roth.
